Hello friends! Welcome to day two of 24 Days of Tea Tasting! Today’s tea is called Cinnamon Rooibos Chai.

Disclaimer: I do not claim to have any real expertise when it comes to tea. This is just for fun.

Rooibos Tea

Caffeine Free

Ingredients: Organic rooibos, Organic cinnamon, Organic apple, Natural cinnamon flavouring.

Brewing Instructions:

Heat water to 95℃/200℉

Steep for 4-5 minutes

Tasting Notes

Sight: The loose leaf is made up of little flakes of orange-brown tea leaves, mostly uniform in size with the acception of a few apple pieces. Steeps a dark orange-red colour.

Smell: The loose leaf smells rather woodsy and spicy. The cinnamon when paired with rooibos makes for a warm and cozy scent. I just smelled it as it was steeping, and the first thing that came to mind was a home and furniture store. Don’t ask why. It almost has floral notes to it. After steeping, you’re left with a tea that smells sweet and cinnamon-y.

Taste: As the ingredients suggest, this tea tastes of cinnamon and rooibos—a terrific pairing, if you ask me. It has a hint of natural sweetness that left me pleasantly surprised.

Rating:

⭐ ⭐ ⭐ ⭐

Warm and spicy; perfect for those snowy winter days.

Other Notes:

This tea makes an excellent latte, which you don’t need to add any sweetener to because the tea already has a natural sweetness to it.
