Day 19 of 24 Days of Tea Tasting: Peanut Butter Cup

Tea Information

Herbal Tea

Low Caffeine

Ingredients: Apple, Cocoa peel, Cocoa bits, Almonds, Chocolate chips (sugar, cocoa butter, cocoa beans, cocoa powder, soy lecithin), Artificial (peanut, chocolate) flavouring, Safflower petals. Contains Soy, Milk, and Almonds.

Brewing Instructions:

Heat water to 95℃/200℉

Steep for 5+ minutes

Observations

Sight: I can see some pieces of cocoa underneath the top layer of large, caramel coloured pieces of what I’m going to guess are apple. The tea steeps a pale yellow colour.

Smell: This loose leaf smells like peanuts! I’m also getting hints of cocoa and a marshmallow-like scent. As the tea steeps, it continues to smell nutty and decadent.

Taste: I’m reminded of Forever Nuts when I drink this tea. Nutty like peanuts or almonds with hints of cocoa. The flavour is very mildly like a peanut butter cup.

Rating:

⭐ ⭐ ⭐

I would’ve liked the taste to be a little stronger, though I bet I could fix that by using more loose leaf next time I make it or steeping it for longer! I would still love to try this tea again.
